Calendar Changes
Booking have changed the system for Synchonising the Calendar.
IT IS TYPICAL OF BOOKING TO MAKE A CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO PARTNERS.
With the changes Booking made our previous calendar synchronisation was nulled and as a consequence 2 double booking came in. Only then did we realise of the change. Later today we received a message from Booking in our extranet inbox, with a lot of fanfare, advising us of the change!!
Please, Please don't make such drastic changes without notice.
What a mess .... they have managed to kill the calendar sync for one of my properties, it is import only now .... and TripAdvisor cannot pull in canceldar data for any of my properties on BDC .... this is a problem at BDC, not with TripAdvisor and has already been reported and acknowledged by BDC .....
FFS ..... So I replied to the message from BDC saying they had killed the calendar sync .... and I reset the calendar sync .....
And then I got a phone call from a 1(888) number saying my calendar sync is all set up correctly .... I explained what they did and that their update had changed settings to Import Only, but she denied any problem (because I had set it back to Import and Export) .....
Booking.com are a real headache to deal with .....
BDC are introcuding so many changes, all at once, but the worst part is that they do not do adequate testing. They are relying on us to find out all the problems. They are transferring the costs to us.
And double bookings are coming in now ....
Tip - if you have bookings from booking.com, log in to the other systems and manually block out those dates - the booking.com calendar sync is faulty and unreliable - have just demonstrated this to booking.com staff .....
