Such a great start to Day #2!!
Just went to Mary Portas' keynote on brand communication. It's amazing and inspiring to have speakers like her at the event! There's too much to share in a single post - but here's my favourite bite-sized quote from this morning:
"People want brands that connect to their value systems (...)"
So simple, but so, so true! And especially in the travel business. If we want to build authentic connections, truly social connections, we must always think in terms of "people" and not "customers".

The second session was a truly inspiring panel discussion about Gen Z, the new generation of travellers.
Pretty fascinating generation! Few things I love about them:
But all things said, there is no one type of Gen Z - they manifest their personality through diverse tastes in music, places they want (or do) visit, fashion styles and so on.

Eco friendly accommodations are truly amazing!!!!

While you're there, please can you ask the senior staff to:
1 - fix the broken calendar sync
2 - introduce a FAIR reviews system
3 - scrap the stupid property verification system
4 - pre-authorise guest cards for a damage deposit to protect hosts and future guests
5 - train their suuport staff to give REAL support, HELPFUL support, not to simply repeat Booking.com mantras and send us round in circles
6 - allow hosts to use their own property descriptions
These things will bring Booking.com more in line with other OTAs and will be helpful for hosts as well as guests .....
