Customer wishes to change booking dates 48 hours before arrival
A customer due to arrive in 2 days time has contacted me to see if they can switch their dates as one of the party is not well. I do not mind to a certain point swapping the dates but obviously I will be loosing out as it was a valentines booking that I am sure we could have got another booking for. Is there anyway to change the dates and if so do they have to pay a fee for doing so?
If the customer is staying for the same amount of nights, at the same rate, you can just sort it yourself. If there is no difference in price then there is no complication, you don't even need to inform BDC. (You can also change the dates in the extranet if you so wish, as long as you have precise written instruction from the guest to do this)
If there are differences the customer can request a date change with BDC who will then contact you to clear a no-charge change. You may also decline a free change and charge them if you so wish (and are able to).
