False guests and false reservations

I am very disspointed and angry because for two last reservations I lost about 700 euro because of false reservations.

Last guest named - npkcnb lffqwj .False phone number.( doesn't exist)

Please , I want to stop that.I pay all fees to Booking and it is not fair.

i have same problem , some people do some 5 /10 day booking and i cannot charge them and they block my calendar for real people...

i got them few time at phone and for them that real booking because they are Genius but , thats mean nothing since you can buy genius on ebay...

A french consultant on booking said me they do these reservation for VISA approval

But they still dont want to cancel these fake one...

 I just received the same thing in South Africa, no name or surname, just alfabet letters, tel numbers doesn't work. Who must I expect to arrive at my gate??? Will see if they respond to my messages on Booking.com. This is really scary, surely there should be a way to verify legit guests.

I did contact Booking.com customer services, they also tried to contact them. The Visa required makes sense, just booking a place any place to have proof of accommodation.

Exactly, we end up paying the commission on these bookings. I have marked everything as invalid and not paid. Lets see what happens. Unacceptable!

when people dont come u just have to mark as no show and comission will be off but that block calendar for real client during this time

But it is too late.

I am waiting guests a few days before their's arrival.I must wait midnigt and then mark no show.That is 5 days at least.

As I mentioned before, don't take any chances, Strict is the best option.

We agree, competitors may take advantages of our cancellation policy, and booking doesn't care of small businesses, they don't protect us. Strictness on cancellation was always a good option. 

Plateforms don't think they can make a better world with flexible reservation, they just want to attract everybody (garbage included) to earn more commissions.

The same thing happened to me, but the option to mark the card as invalid helped me and in this way I was able to cancel the reservation without commission

Just an advice - do not keep rooms for this type of booking. We had also a few like that. It is clear from the name that it is a fake booking, otherwise, they should mention at least a normal name and contact details. Just write a message to the guest asking for the correct details and a message to the booking com asking to make details clear. No answer = no rooms. We just opened rooms and got other bookings having no any response even from booking com "customer service". First priority is your hotel and do not keep rooms for those who even do not write name properly.

Don't give them a chance, change your booking policy to Strict. Don't accept same-day bookings and avoid one-day reservations. I've been in this since 2016, I know what I'm talking about ;)

There should be an option to block a country, in my case the majority (more than 5) came from Nigeria.

They gave me a commission for a couple that booked for 10 days and stayed 1 night..the couple in their review stated they didn't like the accommodation so stay only one night.yet I was give commission for the entire 10 days.i called,sent emails...the denied my request.they have blocked that particular apartment.im also not paying commission on monies I didn't receive
