Feature Request : Fix Guest Searching Results - Two or more Rate plans displays highest plan price instead of the cheapest.

So I was doing some guest search results tests and discovered this doozy of an issue.

Why is this an issue?

Imagine you are a guest you enter place , dates, and click search.

The results appear, and you property is somewhere on the list.

You have both Flexible and Non Refundable Rate Plans. With the Flexible Rate based on the Non Refundable Rate at a % higher as a penalty for choosing Flexible.

The guest sees your price on the results but because it is higher than the result above and below it, they decide to skip over it.

But had that guest clicked on See availability on your result, they then would have seen all the rates, which default to order of :

  • Flexible Rate Plan  (Free Cancellation up to hh:mm on dd MMM) etc
  • Non Refundable Rate Plan

How to fix , what needs to be done?

Change order of rate plan options to always show the cheapest first and not Flexible first over others.

We would want the cheaper rate to be displayed in the search results, to entice the guest to check out the availability.

Especially now at a time where we are trying to recover and #Rebuilding.

Kind Regards

Dear Barry,

I just contacted BDC support team and told me I cannot change order of rate plans because my standard rate is flexible 14 days whereas my non-refundable is not...therefore the more flexible Rate shows first in search...

Well it needs fixing it should be cheapest rate shows 1st and on search results... no other comparison site in the world shows the more expensive price 1st and in results

Yes I figured it out to be based on the Rate Plan Type,
and not the Rate Plan Name.

And I can see why that make sense.

The more flexible rate prioritised over a restricted rate.

And I do see both when I search on mylisting in the results.

Of course depending on how you may restrict a promotion , suc has max advanced reservation value this can cause some of your rates to be excluded,

example within next 7 days , will only show my non refundable rates, and not my flexible rate plans.

because I want to encourage advanced bookings to have the flexible option but not short notice bookings.
