Instant Booking

Is there a way to turn off "instant booking" with booking.com. We've had issues with double bookings and have gotten in trouble and having to deal with these guest issues. I'd like to have people send us inquiries and then either approve or deny the request. Is that possible or a way around people booking immediately?

*le sigh* another one who did not read and watch the How IT Works and guides BEFORE signing up.


Look i'm going to cut right to it, you signed up for this service like the rest of us , a service that is based on your  responsibility to manage an availability calendar, so if the calendar shows open room and inventory .


Double /over bookings are caused when you list on more than one OTA channel, and have not set up a channel manager service. Dont even think about using the ical sync on BdC calendar if you qualify for it.  It is NOT a sync manager, there is no realtime trigger nor regular sync.


smoobu, sycbnb; evivo, cloudbeds, no beds etc... google search and youi will have a 2020 or 2021 list of them


Potential workaorund:


If you enable a prepay or deposit and they fail to complete it within 24h- 7 days, if not last minute, you can easiuly cancel it with the Request cancel feature and choose option 1.


then follow it up with a phone call to partner support to see how long it takes to process.


I have asked others on this topic to come back and tell us what happens after the option 1 is used, still waiting.

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.
