White or colored linen
I prefer leaving in color. I like white linens but colored ones are more bright. Life is to short to live in white and black. I use white sheets and towels but I also have beautiful printed ones with flowers, animals, stripes etc. White linens are easily cleaned but colored ones are so beautiful Am I wrong?
Correct on both counts. I think the balance can shift on the kind of business you are.
Hotels IMHO have the highest need for keeping white, where harsher cleaning methods can be used for common nasty stains.
It is my assumption (wrongly or rightly) that a villa or other homestay style accommodation would have a reduced need due to, hopefully, more property-respectful guests, instilled by the home like enviroment.
We use white for all the main linen but use little flashes of colour with saches/runners, artificial flowers, curtains, paintings etc.
Pros and cons on this one, find that colours (esp towels) fade quickly and whites which could turn grey over time is not washed properly show dirt real quickly and easily.
We use white. For all the reasons fluff mentioned above. In addition, we are located in the busy overpopulated capital, we are not farm. Its just small secondary reason to use white.
We use professional laundry, so "grey" is not a problem. I am not however satisfied with wrinkles. They drive me crazy!
If topic starter permits, please mention the brand as well of your linen.
fluff I think as you said my homestay style accommodation attracts respectful guests, instilled by the home like enviroment.
Katerinka12 I prefer Das, Cannon, Fieldcrest. I prefer 100% cotton-satin striped sheets. Wringles seem to be easier to iron. My laundry detergents are of best quality
I love coloured so do my guests, one businessman said 2 days ago aaaah home from home
"My laundry detergents are of best quality"
Vinegar? (joke). Which ones do you use?
If I am the guest, I like Any color. As long as it's Clean.
Katerinka12 I thought you liked jokes!!! Vinegar for me does the job its to bad it doesnt work for you. I mostry use ARIEL, PERSIL, SKIP but again in the softner despenser I always put white vinegar. If stains are strong I soak linens for overnight.
I love white with hints of 1 or 2 other shades for linen and a throw in 1 of the 2 shades! Towels don't have to be pure white but preferably pastel shades.
Hi! Pietersenmandy6 and welcome...I love colors but white towels can be cleaned more easily if they are stained with dirt, blood etc. I have both.
Take care...
Thanks so much!! That is true yes without removing the dye!!
Hi, I started with fitted sheets but due to some of the reasons fluff mentioned above, I’m gradually introducing grey sheets but still use colourful duvet set & towels
Hi! Debbie and welcome to the Partner Community.
I love colourful duvet sets and towels. Do you usually wash your duvets everytime guests leave???
