Why the hotel have to accept the Force cancellation with full refund from Booking.com or other agent?

I don't see the benefits that why the hotel have to accept the Force cancellation with full refund from Booking.com or other agent?

As the hotel can offer many alternative choice for guest such as FREE AMENDMENT without penalty charge. And 90% of our guest understand and accept this offer.

Then why the hotel have to accept auto cancel with full refund that Booking.com set up and force the hotel to accept.

I really do not understand and it make me feel that Booking.com does not care about their partner in this difficult time.

Yes Booking.com offer easy way to their guest but that guest might not booked our hotel again in future but ofcourse they still make a booking via Booking.com. So hotel loss, Booking.com win.

Why Booking.com does not have win-win policy???

BDC does not care about the accommodation provider one bit. Another classic move to kick us into the abyss by pandering to the poor guests who are no playing us while we try to accommodate the key workers and vulnerable. Absolutely disgraceful and will surely be remember by all 'valued partners' in the future

What can bdc do if you offer to move a reservation and not refund the guest?? Insurance companies are not paying people out so I think we should all make a stand and not allow this to break us all

Hello

I totally agree BdC have been a disgrace to deal with and shown no empathy to us.

When I asked my account manager why no support was be given to partners he couldn't answer me!

So really Non refundable doesn't mean Non refundable then?

BdC don't want to be out of pocket for this and need to be seen to do the right thing by guests as they will be remembered for doing so, but when we have to close our doors the couldn't give a damn.

We are all human here and want to do the right thing by people and if we could be in a position to offer every non refundable guest a refund we would. its just not possible in such uncertain times.

Does anyone have the legal stance on were we stand in this as partners?

Many Thanks

Joss @ Edinburgh Central Rooms

I agree, I think its disgusting and we shouldnt give it to this it is our businesses and we are in control not booking.com, I've had guests call me  weeks ago to cancel and they was told they wouldn't get a refund as non refund so they have just waited till now to actually cancel the reservation and think there getting there money back!!! Disgusting I think we should all stand together and not put up with it, theres no help for us yet!!! What are booking.com going to do if we dont refund these guests but offer to move there reservations instead??

How can booking.com make a hotel refund a guest within 5 days?? Some guests are happy to move there reservation and dont want a refund so how will the system/bdc know what you've arranged with a guest??

Hi Bandara Hotels, Sea Spirit, Josslyn Doherty, Robert Laimer -  In total agreement with you all with the suggestion of  the partners getting together as one voice regarding the practices of B. Com and their lack of support for their partners has been a long time coming and this latest show of contempt for its partners highlights the necessity to keep the momentum going.  The times ahead for us are very tough and B.Com's practices are doing nothing to help us other than to shove us into the bankrupt courts.

For many like me this is our livelihoods and we have worked long and hard to build our businesses.  Tackling the fallout from Coronavirus is one thing but compounded by B.Com's irresponsible actions in the matter is another.  On some of the other Postings there is a growing number of unhappy partners and it is worth checking them out and adding posts.  The more who add their concerns to these posts the better - some of the posts have raised the legality irrespective of the T &C's of B.Com which does not mean they should not be challenged.

Hi craigmoniecottage, I am very new to this forum, but the support and thought during this time has really helped me. I will certainly be supporting with my views wherever I can and I do hope we can all keep the momentum going as rightly said it's been along time coming. I to am interested in finding out the legal stand on this as realistically we pay bdc to advertise OUR businesses under our policies , if we left bdc tomorrow we would continue to do the same.
