Booking.com is not paying its host and they refuse to give a resolution on this matter

Hi, I am managing a few properties on different OTA`s and more and more oftern I have read that many host did not received their payment from Booking.com. I am also in the same situation. Maybe we can help each other in some way. Here is my experience with Booking so far.

In March a guest from Booking.com just made a reservation for the month of June on my seaside property. Since I don`t live nearby I opt for my payment to be made online via booking.com, just like I am doing it on AIRBNB and other OTA. Booking.com confirms that they are collecting all my payments since 2019

Usually i have been paid by Booking.com no later than one month after the guest stays at my house but not in this case. Guest stayed at my property from 14th of June till 27th of June (13 nights) so I should have expected the payment to be made by no later than 30 of July. On the reservation page, I have a automated message that told me that the payment was issued to my bank on 15th of July but I couldn`t see anything in my bank account. I have called, there is no pending payment or anything.

*** Here comes the fun part. I have received the bill from booking.com with the amount of € 340.20 but not the payment on their behalf of € 2,268. I have waited a few more days then I have called customer support to find out when will they issue the payment but they had no answer and they told me that they will be back with a resolution in a few days. Had nothing from them, did not called back. After a month from the check-out, on 29th of July, I have gave booking.com a message with a complaint in order to solve the problem. To my surprise, a few days after the complaint, I have received a message in which they informed me that they did not took the payment from the guest and to call on customer support service.

I have contacted customer support but I get mixed answers, all of them told me that I will get a call in a few days from Financial Department.  As you can see, now it`s September already. I have received no payment and no answer from the customer support or financial department on when the payment will occur or any answer at all. I still have the bill from them (which is overdue) and notifications everywhere that I should PAY the bill and instructions on how to pay the bill.

On my experience so far I had no issues with other OTA`s and I had never expected a problem with Booking.com. I have messaged them again regarding the issue. I will keep you updated.

The payout section is blank, telling me that you don`t have any payouts yet for the year 2021.

This happenned with me, for September payments but I've just received two together and one is on the way, they are being very slow.

its a massive scam to keep as much money in their bank account as possible to look as good as possible for investors! Its all lies, all of it!!!! Trying to get hold of the finance dept is like asking for visit of the pentagon or a chat with the pope......I am so angry that have a lot of my money and I need it.

I have also invested in BKNG on 2nd of February 2021 but I am thinking I should sell since i dont trust the company anymore. I think you are right, they care more about the numbers and to look good in front of investors.

I have had my money stolen from booking and I have been fighting on a daily basis to get it! I have been lied to every single day, they are thieves they steal money; you cannot get hold of the finance dept, its disgusting

No I have been fighting with bdc since July 23 i am sick if their lies. I blocked all commission payment…they are scammers and criminals

Please can you tell us how long did it take from your first contact with them until resolution?

I'm trying to get an idea because the partner's support only tells me " we don't know exactly how long it will take"

My account is closed for one month now and they ignore my messages

After years with Booking.com , I have now run into the issue. A payment hasn't been made, was meant to be, system says it has been made, I keep contacting customer service, advised have to wait until finance department do something about it, no way to make a complaint, no way to speak with a supervisor and then get hung up upon, advised finance department has a massive backlog and I haven't waited enough.

sadly you are one of thousands or who knows many more that have been scammed by the *** that are bdc; I have been fighting every single day since July 23 and lied to every single day its horrendous. I refuse to pay my commissions now they are threatening me with closure!!! we could get together track their offices down in Amsterdam and form a huge protest

Hello Sam, I have the same problem, the last 3 reservations have not been paid to me, and for a month and a half I have been making phone calls and emails just to know "when they are going to pay us". I'm also starting to wonder if we shouldn't get together as a collective to get a settlement. Moreover I do not see anything appearing on the internet talking about this problem I don't know what to do at the moment. Have a good evening Aude

you will get replies from the chimps in the reservation on customer services but they have no authority to do anything! You used to be able to call the finance dept but they have stopped that. I have threatened them with legal action but in reality I am going to get nowhere with this

I had also tried to contact finance dept but no luck ..i`ve been told that they are working on my case and as soon as they will have an answer, they will reply ..

unfortunately they are not working on your case as they have been `Working`on mine  since July 23. I am sorry but they are lying to you. I have spoken and written to them every single day and get the same reply. I have written upwards of 300 messages and numerous calls. I have blocked all payments to them for commission and advise you do the same. Its criminal activity and they are getting away with it

Booking.com say they will not pay me my €515 cancellation fee for guests that cancelled in Aug/Sept. 

They agree that my cancellation policy stated I get paid and put this in writing too.

Now they want to keep the €515 and pay me the commission per holiday, for future bookings and not pay it directly to me.

it’s outrageous.

the simplest things is never tio have any type of online payment that BDC cannot take your money, I take all my payment now direct. I am so upset with them they shut me down yesterday even though they owe me so much money since the 15 July and I refused point blank to pay their commissions. I write and call everyday now for 64 days with no chance of ever getting my money they are disgusting liars, who are operating a money laundering service. The customers advisors are badly educated and cannot speak well, have no power and a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

Keep receiving same messages…sorry for inconvenience…but no resolution…

We must demand to be treated as partners not scam.

I have no words to express my disappointment and regret for the behavior and unprofessionalism of Booking's help desk and finance service. Truly unspeakable !!!!! I spent hours on the phone waiting to be put in communication with someone from the helpdesk in July and August because YOU are in high season! We HOST are perhaps not even in HIGH SEASON !!!!! shame on you. In July I received 4 different information from four of your employees who reassured me that I would receive from BOOKING the transfer of what it is impossible for me to collect from a virtual card. Payment type I DID NOT REQUEST. I just had to wait until September for YOUR administrative LENGTHS. Thinking of speaking with QUALIFIED AND PREPARED staff and not with poor improvised shrews hired the day before, I BELIEVED YOU and waited in vain to receive your written answer and the money. Obviously, DISHONESTLY, you never sent me anything in writing. Luckily I have recorded all the phone calls. In September, not seeing the transfer arrive, I called back and I hear the answer that 'absolutely you will not make me any transfer and ask why I woke up only in September, after two months from my stay' INCREDIBLE !!!!!! Booking punctually pocketed the commissions from my account (because for that you don't have problems of delays due to the high season). Obviously BOOKING takes care to write that if I fail to collect within one year, the amount will be collected by BOOKING itself. It will be my pleasure to express my opinion and inform the BOOKING user community of the total unreliability of your service so that what happened to me never happens to anyone else in the future and to do this I will use all the media at my disposal. you sadly have the exactly same experience as me, its very upsetting that we scammed in this way. I also did not have online payments they changed it without me knowing. The lies they have told me is shocking and the poor idiots at customer service do not have a clue. I think we should try and set up a public forum away from here on FB or other social media to expose to the world that BDC are criminals and theives and the world needs to know this. None of us are getting anywhere so lets do something active?

yes, lets make a plan the world has to know that BDC are doing and lets get our money back!!!! get them shut down. I have been with them since 2014 and the situation is terrible. I used to have a dedicated manager in bordeaux to help me now all I get is some random person Bulgaria or Singapore or someone's living room doing a very poo job

Hello Sam,

Yes, I am for it, but at the moment, I have no know-how in the matter and I do not know how to face the problem in a collective way.

The question that I ask myself, is for how long this problem exists, not just mine, but for the others, which countries are affected and how much can this represent?

It's the end of the week and the end of the month and I hope to find the energy to find the right idea, the right method to bring everyone together and get things done.

Funny thing is that with all the frustration and disappointment we are expressing nobody from Booking felt the need to address us.

They do not seem to care at all

My BDC support team just informed me that BDC has problems with payments…they don’t even know when we will be payed!!!

This is surely unprofessional…I cannot believe it!!!

I am very disappointed with this situation…Hope BDC can have give us  an explanation for this unpleasant situation we are faced with…
