Double bookings and syncing calendars

Anyone else have a problem getting booking.com to recognise the AirBnB bookings on the calendar when it is synced and clearly booked out?

I've had two issues with this in as many days yet Booking.com refuse to accept it is an issue with their system. They also told the second guest I was going to be 'investigated' as it was my fault and I have since been getting abusive and aggressive messages from them.

I sync the calendars constantly and am always checking dates but the system just keeps double booking regardless, it seems.

I can't get anywhere with customer service and they are now threatening to take commission they 'lost' because I was already booked elsewhere.

I am perfectly capable of managing the system - if it works - for just one room, but am now thinking of moving to Travelnest. Would that make life easier?

I don't think I have ever been treated so badly where I consider myself to be a client!

Unless you use a 3rd party Channel Manager you must manually block the calendar on the opposite OTA calendar, thats just how it is.

I agree with Janet and disagree with Brook.  That might be "how it is" but it shouldn't be.  If booking.com provide a "sync calendar" button then they should make sure it works 100% of the time.  I have also had a double booking because of this issue so I now actually DO manually block AirBnB and booking.com when I get a reservation for the other site.

And it is too easy for some faceless customer "service" agent to blame a host for double booking when it is the Host who takes the flak from the irate customer.  We pay them a lot of money to handle reservations PROPERLY, not to dodge the column when their system is at fault.

Thank you. They get enough in commission and claim calendars sync...so they should!

Agreed but the real issue is that its by design, so it's not that it does not work, it's technically more that it does not work as expected.

I just went straight to don't try to use it than explain why for the 200th time.

1. It won't enable if room type inventory count is more than 1.

2. The initiator to sync is not triggered, it simply on triggers on a cycle, e.g.  a few times a day.

So that's a major problem by design.

Syncbnb.com did some articles on it

Janet is only using it for ONE room, so that negates your first comment.  And I didn't see your first 199 "explanations"
