This illustrates the problem. Your hosts have to do far more work just to get information and not... do additional work to get an answer assuming one will ever be received.
All someone at booking.com has to state is yes or no. If not, then what. Nobody does.

As you don't work for them, it isn't your problem. I've written and called without any reply. Sad to say, it should be simple for them to answer.
