Double booking

Hello,

Some help here would be appreciated!

A date that has been booked via another platform has now just been double booked on booking.com. It seems to be a glitch with the link between the platforms or something as the guest said she thought it was strange as she's been looking in the area for a while and this one suddenly showed up today so she snapped it up.

We need it cancelled and fully refunded.

Dates are Friday 5th August to Sunday 7th August. £234

Many thanks,

Jimmy

welcome james,

  • unfortunately you fell into the trap that is the BdC not-in-real-time-calendar-sync.
  •
  • my standard repsonse on this senario is , dont link calendars if using 2 or more OTA, instead get a channel manager as this will save you tears, hair loss, stress and more when double booking after another come in. 99.8% mitigation
  •
  • for this one simply open its details page , scroll down and message a generic message stating overbooking sorry we must cancel this . please reach out to book other dates in a new reservation. or something nice and simple. avoid long winded over explaining.
  •
  • now click request cancel, followed by option 2 if you have sooke to the guest and tell them to expect a notification to action. once they click to agree. you get a confirmation.
  •
  • however if you cant get in touch with guest or no response, or cant wait , choose option 1. you may need to later phone partner support to expedite
  • in some cases you may end up with a relocation invoice if you cannot relocate the guest them selves should they say they cant change date.

no one here but us leprechauns,  contact partner support.

  • Remember this Partner Hub is not a direct line to any support team.
  • So never post action requests here, nothing will come of it.
  • Always message or phone Partner Support directly instead. Method # 4 Public Phone List
