Guest credit card is invalid. Booking.com is asking ask money.

Hello, 
Guest credit card is invalid. We cancelled guest reservation. Guest stayed in another hotel. We didn`t receive any payment.  

Booking.com is asking ask money for the other hotel. Do we have to pay?

1) Every guest has responsibility to use a valid credit card.
2) Hotels have rights to cancel fake reservations.
