Insurance/Accident insurance
Hello dear friends,
I have been browsing for insurance theme but could not find it.
My question is - if a guest hurts himself/herself at my property, then who covers the insurance? Are we as property owners supposed to cover it? Do I need an extra insurance?
*Knock on wood* nothing untoward has happened till now & Godwilling nothing will happen but one can never be sure.
My family and friends have been quoting incidents 'fake' accidents and then asking hosts for money. I am not putting all the people in the same pot. I am sure genuine cases are there. And therefore someone please advise how to go about this.
I run a small 2 rooms B&B.
Please advise.
Thank you.
With warm regards,
Monica
It will depend on the law in your country, but I would suggest you get insurance anyway. If a guest injures themselves in your B&B, you may be liable for costs of medical treatment and possibly for compensation.
In the UK, we should have Public Liability Insurance, which covers guests against injuries and accidents. For our properties, there is specialist insurance for holiday homes, which covers our property against damage by guests and covers guests against accidents and injury.
You can find what type of insurance is available in your country and what you need by phoning different insurance companies. Try a Google search for B&B insurance to start with.
Dear Isle of Wight,
Thank you soooooo much :)))))) I'll do exactly like you have suggested. I'll get back to you here when all is done.
Many many thanks. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
With warm regards from Switzerland,
Monica
