No show and unpaid

I had a booking that did not show and when called on the phone did not answer. Could not charge him because CVC did not show. I called booking.com, the representative was indeed very rude and patronizing, did nothing. The day after I called again, the representative told me that I should have charged 50% within 14 days but he could not do anything.

No protection from Booking.com?

Clearly, the guest not only did not show but also avoided contact. Is not answering or respond to texts.

shame!!!

Hi Rivarola,

Indeed, don't be afraid to report this incident. It is not uncommon, but really no good if guests book but not pay.

To be in charge ourselves, the best is to ask BDotC to help you set up a payment system where guests pay at least the first half at the time of booking, or pay all. (the least complex)

I know, people that travel and use hotels often book but then change their minds. But making a booking with a small household that hosts, it is very costly to lose even one booking.

Let us know how you get on, Rivarola.

Enjoy hosting when you receive reliable guests. And there are many around the corner!

Cheery,

Aaltje from New Zealand.

Ask Booking.com to set up Payments by Booking.com so that guests pay at the time of booking, just the same as on AirBnB, TripAdvisor and HomeAway. If Booking.com refuse to do this, switch to AirBnB, TripAdvisor and HomeAway.

Dear Sir or Madam.

This group is only English. Could you repeat your question in English, please?

And if you have a question about your listing, you can go to the Extranet, and inbox and contact or write the Booking dot com team.

Enjoy your day,

Greetings,

Aaltje B.

Since it was a no-show, no response from a guest, and you didn't charge or at least pre-authorize the card before the arrival, it is most likely  that the transaction would be declined (CC not valid or insufficent funds).

Check your payment policies in extranet. A year ago I remember there was an option where you could mark if you want to receive CVC code or not. I personally (my POS machine) didn't require CVC to be able to make charges.
