There could be many different reasons. This has happened to me so many times too. I would suggest calling Booking.com and speaking with someone who will be able to talk it through with you. Unfortunately, due to it being a common occurrence, even if you fix one issue, another may result in the same thing happening again - my advice would be to constantly check your rates on Booking.com.
