Virtual Credit Cards and Risk Free Bookings

B.C have accepted a booking for our B&B, and taken a Virtual Credit Card payment from the bookers, under the 'Risk Free' booking system.

We explicitly do not accept online payments in our property policies, do not wish to be part of the Risk Free booking system and have not signed up. Our messages are being ignored, and on telephoning, they said they would ring us back for 'security purposes' but haven't.

Can anyone advise what to do please?

Hi

so firstly no BdC didnt, you did ... what does that mean?

It means you are responsible for managing the availability calendar, so if you fail to set it correctly or manually block for direct bookings, or dont set up a channel manager when listed on more than one OTA, then its on you and no one else.

Now we've got that out of the way, here is what you do next :

  1. make sure your contact info is correct on the Extranet , under Account menu, top right.

  2. Ring them back again and confirm over phone your contact details are up to date, and proceed from there.

  1. what do you mean  by 'explicitly do not accept online payments in our property policies', fully clarify what you think that refers to?

  2. Risk Free is a positive thing, means more flexibility for guest but you still get paid. Learn what it is fully before doing something so silly.

  3. Messages are not instant, depending on what country /region you are in, it can take a few days. Quicker if you phone them. No one is ignoring you its a computer system.
