What is the Early 2021 Deal?

This deal is a promotional offer in our pricing solutions portfolio. It provides travelers with a discount to help you capture travel demand and bring in more bookings to get 2021 off to the best possible start. Your property will have greater visibility from getting featured in our promotional landing page, on-site banners, email campaigns, push notifications, and more. Participating properties will also get higher rankings in search results for travelers who continue their searches from the landing page.

 

How the Early 2021 Deal works?

  • Travelers can book from December 8, 2020 to March 31, 2021
  • Stay dates: January 5, 2021 – March 31, 2021
  • A minimum discount is needed to participate in the campaign, which stacks with the Genius Partner Program

How to add Early 2021 Deal?

  1. Head to the “Promotions” tab on the Extranet and select “Add new promotion.”
  2. Activate the “Early 2021” promotion by reviewing the pre-selected items and choosing your discount (a minimum discount is required). You can also select which rooms/units the offer applies to.
  3. Once the offer is live, your property will gain increased visibility, a special tag and included in the Early 2021 landing page.

I don't care about the endless discount options. What I do care about is the bugs and problems with the Booking.com systems that cause many problems for hosts all over the world.

How about fixing them?

Start with the broken calendar sync and the stupid overall review scores system.

I stopped this early deal. 

With stacking discounts, more and more people started to get my room (only one!) for half the price and less. 

So if you do this, you have to triple the price first and then arrange the early deal. 

This deal is mainly for people who do have other rooms for higher prices. That is not clearly described when offering this deal to the hosts. 

I wanted to crank up my visibility, to end up with people who want a cheap deal and not behave like four star guests. 

I basically gave away the unit, since cleaning money wasn't added as promised, looking at all the other costs I have... 

It didn't work for me. 

 

This deal is great for the platform, not for the small host in an area with seasonal visitors.

Unfortunately, most promotions stack so we have to be careful with promotions...

I don’t know if it’s wise to triple the price just to offer an Early Deal!!!

I have joined Genius so I already offer 10% discount....

l agree with you Ella, this deal is not for small host...

Hope other partners share their experiences?

Yes Maria, the price is a delicate thing. 

If too high, people don't book. If too low, you attract the wrong crowd. 

I you stand out, you get 4 stars and more, most suitable for the top 5% of visitors only who want luxury and to be pampered. Would searching for my property come up , even filtered for high rating only? 

It should be, because that is why I pay commission. 

But my property is hiding behind layers of cheaper and basic units, and they get the best deals. 

Cleaning everything myself takes more then two hours. We do it thoroughly. It takes a lot of washing, and now bedding will wear out very quickly after so much washing. (minimum two day stay) 

So far I only had one person booking for a week this season and that was not with this platform. 

 

It is a fine line.

Agree ? with you Ella...

I have changed my min. stay to 3 nights...to much work since Covid...

My Studio is 85 sq.m. so you can imagine how much cleaning has to be done...and as you said bedding is wearing out with so much washing...

 

Wish you more bookings and think positive ?
