Adding a discount or promotion for long stays out of main season (july and august)

I would like to make a special offer for people staying longer when our apartments are mostly empty, so like 25% discount for someone staying a full month but only from September though May. Also a 15% discount for people staying for 10 days or more but also from September through May

Rates are not a solution because I can't set them for just certain parts of the year - exclude July and August.

Promotions aren't a solution because I can only set up to 7 days minimum stay.

What am I missing?

Hi Vlatka Švast

So this is not done via promo, you would instead setup a new rate plan for weekly or monthly, and only allow it t obe bookable for those dates.

Using the Calendar List view , expand the Monthly Rate plan to see how it displays the night cost as a percent of your base rate.

After you define your weekly/monthly rate plan, use the calendar list view and bulk edit to toggle the open closed status for that rate plan on each room type.

I think if I remember right the Monthly list view on calendar shows the different rate plans and can toggle them on and off.

Also in Calendar - List view when you expand a Room Type , then Restrictions/promos, you can adhoc alter the min length of stay, same can be achieved with the Bulk Edit tool.

I can see why this is confusing, its just a matter of using the tools we have to frame it right.

1.) I would like to make a plan for 14 days+. 1 week is not enough and 28 days is too much.

2.) I can't close a room for a single rate on some date range. I can only close a room for all rates at once (setting it to "sold" status).

3.) The min length of stay can be set to max 7 days.

Also creating a custom rate plan the min length of stay can be set to max 7 days.

I have tried all this before to no avail.

I think you missed the part where even though the max min number of nights in a rate plan is 7.

Once you open the calendar list view expand it or any rateplan , use the Minimum length of Stay value and override it.

The same goes for wanting a plan with 14+ days

Uh. I can't set it to more than 7 days. it gets reset to the previous value. And an error is shown saying I have to enter a correct value.

In the image below you see what happens when I try to set it to 13 - it is reset to 3 (the previous value) and it shows the error.

Error I get if I try to set the minimum length of stay in the standard rate plan.
