Are indoor plants “purifying”???
Hello my plant lovers!!!
Many of us like to have plants in our bedrooms, bathrooms etc not only because we like them but also because we believe that they clean our air.
I just read the following article about our beloved plants....and thought to share it with you...
Massive Review Confirms House Plants Aren't Actually 'Purifying' The Air in Your Home.
Filling your house with potted plants might make you happier and more productive, but it's not going to make the air you breathe any cleaner. That is, unless you had a ludicrous number of indoor plants: somewhere between 10 and 1,000 for every square metre of your living space....
Purifying or not I love my plants and yes I have them in my house and take care of them and also do my guests...
Thank you for posting this. I sometimes wondered if there really was any real "clean air" benefit from houseplants - it seems not. Shame, because I do a lot of "office work" from home. We prefer not to put houseplants in our holiday homes - they won't get looked after during longer stays or during short stays in hot weather - plus, holiday homes are quite small, so better not to take up extra space if there's no real benefit ....
Yes it is a shame but I love plants so much I cannot stop having them....
Cheers...
I grow fruit and vegetables at home, but I don't know much about flowers and other plants!
Fruits n vegetables!!! That’s magnificent!!! and very difficult they need so much care...
Do you mean you grow them inside???
I used to grow vegetables in my back yard but it’s too difficult for me...digging and shuffling too hard.... I only have almond trees in my garden...
What kind of fruits and vegetables do you grow???
I would love almond trees! I used to grow anything and everything - and make jam, chutneys, pickles, fruit wine etc. Last year I moved into a new (very old!) house and the garden needs a lot of work, and with business being so busy, I haven't grown much this year. I will get some work done in the garden this winter. And yes, the digging is hard work, but it helps to keep me fit!
Yes almonds are dry and nutritious. We have these trees 25 years and The almonds are big and delicious. All of our friends and guests have tasted them and loved them. I usually give them a small bag of them when they leave.
I still have some from last year so why not come and taste them!!!
Wow!!!!
Ilike ...used to grow anything n everything...
My husband doesn’t like anything nor everything so its too much work for me to grow ...anything n everything...ha...ha...ha...
GardeninGardening is best exercise!!!
We do miss our garden from from before we moved.
We had loads of fruit trees, orange, lemon, avocado, golden plum, mango, nispero, peach, plus grapefruit, grapes, walnut, almond and one or two I've forgotten.
We did swapsies with the neighbours for fresh veg.
As for plants inside maybe you need triffids (Day of the...) or giant hogweeds (Genesis song Return of the...) or Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors) might make a difference, just don't get eaten!
fluff... too bad you don’t have all that goodies!!!
How could you leave them behind!!!
Triffids!!! OMG you scared me!!!
