Booking made but guest not responding, want to unblock calendar

Can't find a way to unblock the calendar after a guest booked, didn't pay or repsond to messagrs.

Hello Greg,

The calendar will be blocked while the reservation is still active. To unblock you can ask the guest to cancel or, if no response, contact with the Booking Help Desk. Bear in mind that if Booking has to look for alternative accommodation, maybe will result on charges to you.

When is the arriving day?

thx, they weren't responding to messages.  the help desk unblocked it for me.  don't like it that i can't do that myself.  too much control on behalf of booking.com

If you are sure they aren't going to arrive, go into the Calendar and amend the availability so you have a room available to let.

thx, tried that the system wouldn't let me do it so the dates were available for other to book.

As Sharon points, in the calendar, you should be able to add more units for sale.

But I don't recommend it if there is an active reservation.

I had a similar situation just over a week ago. BC had supposedly cancelled the booking and offered voucher to guest for future date.  Anyway my calendar let me re-open the room yet it was still not bookable so I did as above and added another unit and still found 24 hours later it was not bookable. Hope voucher not accepted used otherwise I've lost out. Messaged BC but no response.......yet!

Yes a big fault of BC I've found their customers tend to make bookings without commitment and bang the calendar is blocked and then they up and cancel or don't come thru with a commitment.  HomeAway and airbnb take the money, so once booked it locked in.  Considering leaving BC for that reason.  Only new here.  And the help desk is hopeless they only have canned answers and it seems its always a different dept that needs to handle the problem.  That just goes on for longer. :(
