Rambujehotel, if you've got a particular challenge for breakfast that you need tips for (for example, early check outs), let the community know. The more information, the better :)
My personal approach is - advertise on booking site that cooked brakfast os available if you want this then book it - I provide a continental style breakfast for free - so most people are not bothered about paying for something they may feel they don't need. Yes this does cost me a little bit more - but to me it's all about good customer relations - and look at the reviews I get must have some impact and pays in other ways
simple put on the booking.com extranet about the breakfast charges and if early check-outs they will not care to pay for it but keep in mind tell the guest on arrival that these are the food menu available in case of early check-out so u will not miss the guest anymore.
Good day! What we do is that we offer breakfast with a standard contribution with no description because we al always prepare food on morning and night so what is available and new ideas we serve. So our menu is according to the person who wants to cook so it varies. The main ingredients for breakfast are fruits, tea, grains and diferente options per day as the local breakfast in the area. The secret is the mix of spices or ingredients and because we have open/shared kitchen, many guests interact in the cooking expirience!
tell the guest that food is prepared on the daily market vegetable availability since Ur requirement is limited. also speak with guest the reality what you are facing in daily business so that they will be humble to have the great food of your and request them to make the comment's on the Facebook and Instagram and also TripAdvisor just try this one's
I am self-contained with my farm stay and have muesli or granola and oats available at all times. On arrival, my guests can let me know what they would like as an extra. Some didn't bring anything and they insist in paying me for their breakfast which is whatever they like. Some foreign people don't understand what self-contained is and the last thing I want to do is seeing a guest leave unhappy with an empty stomach.
But anyway, often people like a little extra like milk, or some prefer just a few slices of brown bread.
Milk is not digested well by everyone, for some, it's a treat and others simply don't care. As long as they have their coffee. And that is available at all times. Organic, Fair-trade, fresh kuku coffee. Nothing that sets you off better than a great coffee in the morning! YAY
Food allergies, Glenn McKnight they are on the rise isn't it.
So gluten free options are more and more requested.
Home-made yoghurt and farm milk from the cow - all grass based, no hormones used, people admire a lot.
Eggs are a good one too.
I have tried to make waffles also gluten free with a small waffle maker, and they looked and tasted amazing too.
My grandson can't have gluten, egg and dairy and managed to create a waffle with oat milk and grapeseed oil or coconut oil, coconut sugar grinded it in the coffee grinder, and added egg replacer. And it worked, very yummy! There are alternatives. It took some extra effort but got it now. Worth trying.
Enjoy all your guests and your breakfast preparations!
We serve a different main course for breakfast breakfast every day, but all breakfasts include Melon with Serrano ham, Yogurt with fresh strawberries and blueberries, Freshly baked bread, a cheeseboard with four different cheeses and crackers, home made strawberry jam and marmalade, as well as tea or coffee and water, and orange juice. The main courses are Pancakes with syrups, Omelette with toast, or Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
Most guests appreciate the way we do it, and we do ask about food allergies or other dietary requirements, and try to note which guests do not eat certain things, and offer them an alternative the next day.
I think the level of breakfast choices is an important option. If are marketing your rooms as more on the inexpensive side, I assume a continental breakfast suits the budget conscious. If you are charging alot I think the extra touches makes sense.
We have not had anyone ask for any items that are restricted to their diet.
On the other hand you have lots of other considerations , Vegan, Vegetarian, Halal and Kosher.
In my wife's family we have Seven Day Adventist- No pork products. She also has Hindu and its strict vegetarian.
Since she is from Jamaica we can make Ackees and Salt cod, fried plantain etc which is a cultural experience. This I would do with lots of communication in advance. We made for a US black guests and one was from Jamaica but the rest couldn't eat the Ackees and Saltcod and it was expensive and waste
Love the Dutch breakfast. Reminds me of my visit to Amsterdam.
My guests prepare their own breakfast. I have for them in the fridge local home made products such as goat milk, eggs, yoghurt. Freshf Fruits, juices, home made cakes and cookies, bread, hand made marmalades and pure honey. Since coffee is so important to many people guests can prepare their own cup of coffee having to choose between instant coffee, espresso, capuccino but above all the best Greek coffee.
I know about coffee the Israeli way, the Turkish way, the French way, but the Greek way I don't. Is that a different type of coffee, or just a different technique Maria? Interesting!
Aaltje-B- it’s a different type of coffee. You prepare it the way Turkish coffee is prepared but in taste its totally different... I don’t know why but although many Greeks drink it in all over the world it doesn’t taste the same as in Greece!!!!
My guesthouse is self catering so we supply a simple continental breakfast of pastries, bread, spreads, cereals and milk and leave the guests to quiet enjoyment of their stay . They know where to contact us if they need and a lot of them enjoy reducing their expenses further by using our fully equipped kitchen facilities.
Guests highly appreciate self catering. When goodies are suppllied they enjoy making their own breakfast, sitting around admiring the view over a cup of coffee....
Our Pancakes always get a pleasant chuckle out of our guests. I put some batter in a bottle, add a little more milk and shake. Squirt the facial features in the skillet, let it cook a bit then add the rest of the batter on top. We serve local meats, one of our suppliers has given us a coupon to give to our guests. If they purchase meat from him, he gives us a discount. The bacon is quite good. Pancakes, waffles, muffins and such are made from scratch. We never know what people are going to eat. One year no one ate yogurt, the next year a lot of people did. So we put out yogurt, granola and fruit. I like to let people choose what fruit they want as I personally don't like all kinds of fruit. So I will put out a choice of 4 different kinds. I always have a muffin or a banana bread kind of food for breakfast. Orange juice, apple juice, coffee and tea or milk. We have our own free range chickens and people often comment on how good the eggs are. And those that don't usually eat eggs will when they see the chickens roaming about and refer to them as "happy chickens".
Thanks M Adam...I put some batter in a squeeze bottle and add some more milk. Shake it up and squeeze some batter out on the griddle to form eyes and mouth. Let it cook a bit then add the rest of the batter. The face will be darker since it cooked longer.
We provide a continental breakfast for our guests, Fresh fruit salad, yogurt, fresh juice, 2/3 different types of bread, 3 different cereals, honey, jam's, peanut butter, Vegemite etc as well as tea, coffee. We also supply biscuits to have with a cuppa anytime the guest chooses.
I cannot remember the password and when I ask for a link to be sent there is no link sent. I have been struggling for weeks! I need to edit my listing urgently.
