Calendar sync issue

My property is listed both on Booking.com and on AirBnB.
Whenever it is booked via AirBnB, the reservation becomes visible in the Booking.com calendar - but the dates are still available for booking! This is a potential for a double booking.

1. Why does this happen?
2. What can be done to fix it?

BDC deliberately designed their calendar sync to ignore bookings on other booking channels and cause double bookings.

BDC have clearly admitted this in this community.

That's regretful. The only solution I can see is to do the following: the moment I receive an email from AirBnB about a new reservation, I have to go to Booking.com, open the calendar, and mark the newly booked dates CLOSED to make sure no further reservations occur on these dates.

Has anyone come up with anything more elegant?

An issue I encountered is that closing any accounts linked to to sync bookings, seem to disappear leaving the dates exposed to double book. Now I have a double booking, with no dates to offer, can not get in touch with the guest and can not find away of contacting Booking.com

Which, in more practical terms, means we have to watch all reservations closely in real time, and once a reservation is received from any other platform, rush to the Booking.com calendar and MANUALLY block these dates to prevent a double booking.
Unless someone has found a better (=less labor-intensive) solution. Anyone?
