Thanks for the answer. I have already contacted booking but unfortunately they are not flexible enough. the problem is not that i can change it internally, i can. but booking.com can't change it, for whatever reason.
when i change it in my chanel manager it doesn't change on booking.com
means I change the guest internally, for example from apartment 1 to apartment 2, it has changed for me and apartment 1 is free and 2 is then occupied.
but then both apartments are blocked on booking.com.
It's bad for booking.com and of course for me too.
with airbnb i can easily change the apartment number online on the airbnb site.
any inventory changes should be done via your channel manager - if it doesn't pull through, I'd advise reaching out to your account manager from your channel manager.
Alternatively, you can try to adjust the inventory count via your Extranet, but any update from your channel manager would overwrite these changes.

this booking number was for a stay on 5/18 for 1 night for 2 rooms, there is some type of payment error, that very well could be on the hotel's part, I needed

The reason bdc can't change it is because it would be cancelling original then replace it with a new reservation for the correct room.
Which may seem like a simple thing to you and I, they don't have such a feature.
