Criminal Customer

Hello,

I am a host in Booking.com. Sometimes, customers do not want to show their id or to take their social security number. In that case, I am in risk to give shelter a criminal. So can I    refuse those customers who does not want to give id photoor id number? Please inform me. Also how I can set up id requirement from each customer in Booking.com? And it can be good If booking.com  can accept some partial demage deposit from the customer. For example, collecting 50% damage deposit by booking. Com and another 50% by host from the customer. Then this way, we can really avoid criminals. Thanks.

Hi Rami,

 

  1. Photo Id
    1. Add it to fine print and new reservation message template, to send government issued photo ID, within x hours or days depending on last minute or further away. Failure to do so will void reservation. Which you then use the Request Cancel feature (then select option1)  
  2. Deposit
    1. You can only take it directly or via a payment provider, .e.g. send a payment link or share bank account info.

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.

I don't understand the photo id. How can I add this feature that every customer must send the id pictures to me. Otherwise the reservation will be cancelled. Could you please inform me in details how to add the id requirement in the booking. Com? Thanks

Hello,

Please check under your Extranet >> Property >> View Your Descriptions.

You should have similar wordings as such:

"Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply."

I would also suggest that on your Reception Desk, put up a signage to say that photo ID is required otherwise management has the rights for refusal.
