Do you decorate your property for Christmas?

Hello partners,

All around the world, businesses are starting to prepare for Christmas. For some, Christmas is a peak season. It’s the perfect time to shoot for maximum sales in a very short period of time. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas yourself, as a business owner you can still take advantage of the festive mood.

As a Booking Partner, are you going to prepare your properties for the Christmas season? Are you going to put up a Christmas tree? Special food or drinks? How about gifts? Perhaps you have a unique or different approach to this holiday. We would love for you to share it with us!

Ho!!!ho!!! Sergei

Christmas!!!

Its my favorite time of year....I can write so much about Christmas....but we have 22 degrees and a splendid sun...it’s impossible for me to think of Christmas right now...

Last weekend my granddaughter was here and we were talking about Christmas and how to decorate our house....kids...they are always ahead of us...

So now in her bed is a Christmas garland...just for a start!!!

Thanks Sergei for the Christmas mood...

Hello everyone, I write from Italy, I put very pleasant and suggestive white lights around the house, the windows and the terraces; a garland of Christmas stars on the doorstep together with a polystyrene Santa Claus and a very small but very nice crib. Beyond the house I do not put anything special because I host clients of many different ethnic groups and so I prefer to remain neutral. Sorry for the mistakes Ciao Ciao

Hi! CasaMia!!!

I checked your place...

Lugano wow!!! What a place to be!!! So many wonderful memories...

Your Christmas decoration seems simple and luxurious at the same time...

Very thoughtful of you to  have in mind your different ethnic guests...

Wish you a wonderful day...

Hi Everyone, Although I have not started yet, I too like CasaMia will be keeping it very low key.

In today's world we need to respect many religions and views and therfore I dont wnat to offend anybody, with that said I do think some very small touches shouldn't cause offence to any visitors, this may be a string of lights or a some holly on the door. In regards to the addititional / different gifts I dont intend to change these, I might go as far as adding some seasonal cookies but this would be all..

Have a wonderful weekend

Like Sharne, we don't want to offend anyone - these days, people are very easily offended. The properties we own and manage are also quite compact, so there is little space for extras like Christmas trees. It would also take a lot of time and money to decorate all the properties, and then we'd need to store everything for 11 months - it's not really worth the time, effort or cost.

thanks guys for your words.  I love Christmas and I like decorations that are not too intrusive or dirty.  I try to maintain a healthy balance between my world and my traditions with those of the rest of the world.  so I think it is right to let theme breathe the Christmas air as I live it, but leaving some space for those who live differently.

Ciao ciao

Here is an idea:  Place a small artificial Christmas tree in your guestroom area and a box of your unused tree decorations.

Then, invite your guests to decorate the small tree themselves during their stay.  It might give them added fun and feel the holiday spirit.

But, you would have to remove and re-box the tree ornaments after each set of guests check-out.

No seriously, we do decorate the reception and general ground floor areas. Unfortunately none of us are very good at it so definitely no photos!

Will try do some thing subtle in entrance area,  no electrical items or lights for safety reasons though.

Wont be taking bookings from 21st until 29th, it's just simpler.

Merry xmas to all

Having been brought up in the UK where it's winter this time of year, I have now moved to New Zealand and it is summer.  So quite strange to have Christmas in the summer and get motivation to get into the spirit.  The majority of guests are from the northern hemisphere, so also finding Xmas in the summer a bit strange but I put up a few decorations as it brightens the place up.  Strangely the booking.com promotions team haven't clicked onto the change in seasons and I still get promotion offers for autumn when it is spring here.  December to February are my busiest months.

We live in Greece and as you said it’s quite strange to get in the mood since the weather is so warm and sunny...so I can fully understand your point of view...

Merry Christmas ?

Bandara, my granddaughter decided this year to have a very small tree to decorate!!!

I am awaiting for her to do the decoration together...

She is an athlete in Rhythmic  Gymnastics and  attending a Gymnastics meeting this week in Bulgaria so the decoration will have to wait a little...

We are not in a Christmas mood yet but when my granddaughter comes everything will change...Children are so inspiring!!!
