False bookings
We have had three similar bookings now that turned out to be false. The first time we were caught out we waiting around expecting the guest to arrive, but a no-show, and then when we checked, false credit card info. The next time we checked earlier, same result. Today a third. The first two seemingly emanated from China, the third from Thailand. Each was for a week, and the kicker was the words, under Reservation Remarks: "Ï am travelling for business and may be using a business credit card". With Christmas fast approaching and accommodation filling up, it's important to keep an eye out for what is obviously a malicious scam. As soon as you get one of these check the credit card, and if it's false, go through the Booking.com channels to report, and then if no valid credit card is provided, cancel the booking so you can let the accommodation to a genuine traveller.
Hi
Best thing is turn on prepay under policies.
Use a payment link system to message the paylink , with a timer and expiry to make payment.
Then when not prepaid in 1-2 hours for last minute**, or 6-12 for other, you can simply use the Request cancelation option in details page and choose option 1.
** I believe if its within 24 or 48 hours of check-in date you instead need to phone BdC support to void it.
Kind Regards,
