Help please with parity!
I have been struggling to manage ongoing rate parities between Booking.com and Expedia.
A "members only" discount on Expedia shows up in their app, and creates a parity with Booking.com website price.
Previously I managed by not having a member's only discount to match the genius discount, but now my Expedia marketing manager is saying if we don't do member discounts, we will be penalized, loose ranking, and may even have our property no longer displayed.
How can I create a members-only deal with Expedia that doesn't create parity with Booking?
I think member discounts and genious discounts are not calculated in price comparisment engines.
The Expedia app gives people the members discount. Booking.com compares their website price to the Expedia app price.
From this comparisment engine (trivago) it can be seen that genius discount and member discount is not calculated.
I noticed that sometimes booking.com and also expedia.com is offering lower rates to guests but on their expense.
I have aslo noticed discounts made by booking.com.
I called my BDC office and they informed me that this discount is made from BDC on their expense, something like a promotion I guess.

On TripAdvisor, all prices look the same. It is only when Booking checks prices against the Expedia app that the parity comes up.
The Expedia app price includes members' pricing. The Booking.com price app and website do not include genius pricing.
Do you not have the same problem with parity between the Expedia app and Booking.com website and app when using member's only pricing?

Yeah it happens not always accurate.. But if your quality score is above 80 it's not a big of a deal. As said before Booking.com and Expedia are sometimes lowering our rates on their expense to be more competitive which can result in those price variations.
In my case I don't know why the 44€ difference. I guess different room types were mixed somehow.
