how do I get paid when card details say "you do not have permission to view card details"

I am having trouble with a payment. On my extranet it state "You do not have permission to view the card details"

I have asked booking.com but they said to mark the card as invalid but I cannot do this as I cannot see the last 4 digits of the card to enter on the screen. 

I have phoned booking.com twice both times I have been told (after being on hold for over 1/2 hour ) that someone would ring me back within 30 mins but they don't. 

I have spoken with guest but they said "we have given our card details to booking.com and are not prepared to give them directly to you in case we get charged twice"

  • normally that just means you wait until :
    • guest cancelled before the arrival date
    • stay day 2 by 12 noon, then its active
