That is entirely illogical, as you do not pay commission on a cancelled booking.

 

The best way to handle this is contact the Guest and say due to covi19 restrictions you need to cancel and ask them to logon to booking.com to start the cancellation.

 

or 

 

Open the reservation detail page, scroll to messages send them that message of intent.

 

 


If they prepaid at checkout to BdC then include a note saying once they receive notification of cancellation from BdC in a few minutes in order for full refund they must click on Accept/Confirm in the notification.

 


Now to initiate the cancelation scroll backup and on right pane is Rquest Cancellation, choose option 2.

 

Now you wait for them to do their action, and then status on reservation page will update.

 

This method 99% of the time avoids relocation invoices.

You must phone BdC Partner Support, as per the visual guide below or the short version here:

 

 

In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.

Select ‘Booking.com messages’.

Click on ‘See Contact Options’

Select :Account

Select  Other,

Click  See All contact options,

Click  CALL, phone number is revealed
