NYC Data Sharing Law

As of January 3, 2021, NYC will require Booking.com to share data about their partners and hosts offering short term rentals for less than 30 nights. My questions are; how do I opt OUT of this data sharing? And how do I set the minimum nights to 30 nights in my calendar? (Currently the max minimum nights are 7 nights!)

Hi

Due to the nature of the enquiry, we [partners ] cannot assist on question 1.

Instead please contact BdC Support either message or phone. see guide and short summary method below.

On question 2. calendar restrictions see:

You should request all hidden extended fields via a message then leverage them such as Min and Max length of stay; Max Advanced Reservation. No Arrivals, No Departures.

Contact BdC Support as per the visual guide below or the short version here:

1) In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.

2) Select ‘Booking.com messages’.

3) Click on ‘See Contact Options’

Topic : Account

Subtopic : Other, then phone number is revealed on right

I do agree opt out should be allowed.  AirBNB does similar already and no opt out which is why I refuse to use them.

Hi Ulrik Christiansen,

The maximum stay a guest can book through Booking.com is currently 30 days as we are geared more towards short term stays, not long term rentals. Therefore, it is not advised to set a minimum length of stay of 30 days and we do not see guests booking this length of stay through us regardless. We are currently experimenting the possibility to increase to 45 days but still in the testing phase.

Regarding the local law, it would be worth reaching out to your local partner support team to discuss this via the Extranet through the Inbox tab > Booking.com messages.

Kind regards,

Shirley E.
