Price Summary vs Payment Amount
Hello,
I am trying to book Hotel Cà Vanni, Rimini, Aug 17-19. Your price summary (3 guests, 2 nights) is
€ 155.78, but at the payment step it offers 3 options: Pay at the property € 158; Pay online by 9 August 2020 € 158; Pay now € 143.78
My choice is to pay at the property and pay € 155.78 as stated in price summary. How come booking.com charges me extra € 2?
Also, aren't children exempt from the city tax? My booking details clearly state that the group includes a 11-year old child, but the program still charges city tax for the child.
On the price matching: Hotels.com asks 142€ for the same property, same dates, booking conditions, and guests, no rewards. How can I (as a Genius Level 2 user) get the matching price from booking.com?
I don't know how it is elsewhere but in my country children are exempt from the city tax that are 0 - 7 years old.
I guess this hotel is not in a Genius program.
When I checked Hotels.com it asks 154€ for the same room, the only difference is that city tax is not included. You pay city tax at the hotel . So the rate is basicly identical.
Price matching sometimes shows lower rates but once you proceed with the booking you'll see a final price.

Last trip of our 5 hosts in Italy only one in Rome didn't charge us the city tax for a 10-year old.
It's a pity I can't contact booking.com directly with my questions:(
Here is the insight from me as a host.
In policies I have marked that city tax per person cost 3,13€.
City tax is not specified for children.
Regardless of that, you will pay the same rate, because the city tax amount is basicly just an informative rate in this case where taxes are included (the way I see it).
If I as a host set a fixed rate 100€ for a triple room, you will pay 100€ regardless if the child is 3 years old, 10 years old or an adult. Or if you would booked a triple room for two persons you would still pay 100€. So the taxes shown are not always correct. We as hosts must report and transfer the correct tax amount based on the number od guests, age and length of stay to our local officals.
This makes sense.
I as a guest would prefer a fixed rate, I don't need all this extra info on the taxes included into the final price as soon as I can't control it.
I assume BDC had to add this tax info to the finel price, because of the EU regulations etc..

The city tax law differs from country to country and from city to city within the same country, the age limits for kids might also differ depending on many factors.

thanks for the city tax rules. As for the Customer Support - the problem is that I can't find this contact form. When I click "Customer Service Help Centre" the program only allows to contact the properties I have already booked, and shows a list of FAQs.
Could you please send me a screenshot with this form on the Customer Support page?
