Social media companies wanting to help you
I occasionally receive e-mails from social media experts, asking me to hire them to advertise my guestrooms on Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
I ignore these unsolicited offers; but I did receive one from a USA gentleman who claims he handles the social media accounts of many exclusive hotels around the world. He even sent me a 15-minute video, critiquing my personal guestroom website.
My guestroom suite is listed on Booking,com, Airbnb, Expedia, FlipKey and TripAdvisor. I use my personal website to provide more details of my property these five reservation companies cannot list on theirs. Plus, I have a Facebook page about my guestrooms.
Have any of you hosts hired a social media professional to promote your guestrooms through Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.? If yes, is this increasing your reservations and is this worth the expense?

On initial face value I would be cautious about emails like that, typically they are elaborate 'throw a net out ' scams.
The fact he did a personalised video would lead me to believe he is likely someone who uses fivver.com , a freelancer, and is legit.
Of course I say that up to the point of it becoming harassment.
Some would use these services as its take out the pain of setting it all up and managing it all in one place.
I think it is of more benefit to those of us who paid for other services like a Booking button or mini website , single page and want to drive potential bookings to it.
Without knowing what he charges and how; and ideally you want to get him to break it down , and if it will be a once off or subscription.
