Synchronizing calendar two ways

Hello,

we would like to syncronize the calender for 2 of our objects in two ways:

- connecting the calendar of the agency that handles most bookings through iCal

- connecting the calender with our Smoobu Channel Manager The Smoobu Channelmanager is also connected with the agency's canelder via iCal. But in order to reduce the time it takes to update the dates from one calender to the other we would like to have a direct connection from the agency's calender to booking.com.

Is that possible?

You have posted this on the partner forum so I don't have such detailed know.edge.  Have a read of all the articles if you search Help with sync.  If that doesn't answer your question contact booking.com help team using Inbox icon on Extranet.

Hi

  • Always search first for similar topics before posting
  • iCAL as the standard is called is only reliable if you have an external party such as a Channel Manager initiating all the time.
  • iCAL between two OTAs ,just does not work like you may think.
  • Its unreliable and not constantly syncing. Leads to over bookings.

The scenario above is messy, will not work without causing stress for you. So its just not worth it.

I strongly reccomend you only sync into the Channel Manager and then from the Channel Manager to Agency Cal (one way -outbound only ) , if the CM offers it.

Do not try to sync from OTA to another 3rd party calendar when a Channel Manager is enabled.

The whole point of a CM 3rd party service is to avoid this mess.

The agency should instead not be syncing from the CM at all and have their own logon to the MC tool, that is the correct way.

Kind Regards
