Why is it so hard to Sync the Booking.com Calendar??!

I've spent the last few hours, google searching, youtube searching and formum searching for the Booking.com calendar and I'm so frustrated! This should not be difficult but all instructions I find just don't add up.

The calendar sync should be there - if not, message BDC from your Extranet to ask them to set it up

But be aware that it doesn't work properly - BDC have designed a calendar sync to deliberately ignore bookings on other booking channels

Thanks for the response - although it doesn’t sound very promising. It’s very frustrating as the links are easy enough if you go with a premiere channel partner, so it should work (but I appreciate that it doesn’t). Urgh…I’m trying to embed it into a WordPress Calendar - ah well, onwards and upwards. Thank you.

  • The calendar sync options only show up when criteria are met.
    • e.g. inventory count for a room type is 1
  • BdC cal sync does not real time sync it never has , hence why its a terrible idea to use it.
  • If you are on 2 or more OTA , channel manager is a must free or paid.
    • at least with a CM you could then pull or export to a external calendar, generally alot easier too.
  • Whats your thinking behind sync it to a wordpress plugin ? what are you trying to achieve ?

Hi Brook, I’ve gone with a Channel Manager (Guesty) but to show an availability calendar on the website requires setting up a subdomain within Gusty and it’s not very ‘nice’ or even in line with my WordPress theme.

So, I was going to look at - Calendar type plugin where I was pulling down the data from Booking and AirBnB to present something more pleasing and akin to my theme.

Maybe that doesn’t make sense - and maybe I’m doing a his wrong - I’ve only set it all up today and an inordinate amount of time trying to get the calendar from Booking.

Right so as long as you first have Guesty linked to BdC, then you should have a look at the Guesty export iCAL options, and not BdC export to wordpress.
