Can I control how long people shower?

Some people must shower mega long since going through my gas bottles very quickly.

There must be a system in NZ that will limit the timeframe? Would be ideal!

Greetings,

You could attach an off/on chain valve to your shower faucet.

Guests must pull the chain down, when they want shower water.  The water shuts off, when the chain is released.  This reduces your shower's heated-water waste.

This special valve sells for $27 (USD) in American hardware stores.

Then one person can repeat the pull down of the chain to have longer showers ?

haha was I here in spirit? lol

I would also look for one of those images on google of the be eco friendly with the 5 minute max sign, or make something and print it.

I remember years ago seeing a 5 minute sand timer that had a suction cup you could stick to the tiled wal of the shower and people could turn it on to start and then get out when its up.

as to what on earth they are doing for more than 5 minutes in a simple task of soaping up , rinse and get out, boggles the mind, lol.

Ha...ha...the comment  has to do with technology....so could Barry be away in this subject???

Well, when I was a little younger I used to have long showers...sometimes 30 min....after having my children 3 min. is more than enough...

Great ideas guys...I like the 5 min. shower....love technology....

Thanks for sharing your ideas.

There is a spring in the valve that is linked to the chain.

The shower water ONLY flows, when the chain is held down.  You cannot wash your body with two hands, when you need a free hand to hold the chain down.

No.  The valve shower-chain is mostly used for indoor showers.

I posted that video ONLY to show how the shower faucet valve works.

Aaltje, very important issue this is....

Thanks to our beautiful sun we have a solar system all year long but we have to think about our planet a little more....

Every living thing needs water to survive...it should be used as efficiently as possible. We tend to forget it.

Thanks Aaltje for sharing.
