double booking error on reservation

Hello, i had a double booking today on one appartment. First booking was done succesfully and then today some other guests where able to book the same appartment on the same dates. I  have noticed this happening on other bookings as well, where the apartment is booked and the system shows that it is still available. Why did the system allow this is there a setting that fixes this ? Please contact me as soon as possible.
