Flooding

There is major flooding in our area.

How can I reach my guests the best? (who supposed to come tomorrow)

I have tried calling, txting, via cellphone ( app )  and via computer. No answer

The guest has booked for three days.

She could be stuck somewhere and no wifi

What would you suggest (apart from praying the guest will be answering)

Hi

I would message or call support and have them reach out.

Ella, flooding is a nightmare...sorry to hear that.

I think you have done everything you could but call immediately BDC and inform them of the problem and request them to  reach your guests.  They have different options to contact them.   It happened to me once and they contacted guest for me and I finally got in touch with my guests.

Hope the flooding ends very soon with no problems.

Try not to panic and wish you all the best.

Hi Maria,

Thank you for your answer, no panic yet...haha. Most travellers are pretty resilient, which is a good thing.

I am not too worried about payment either since they still have to pay.

Just wanting to know how they are. But will call.

The council have arranged a big invite for coffee/tea in the town hall nearby, with beds set up as well. In case people can't cross rivers or low lying flooded areas.

our road remains closed, but luckily the pouring rain has stopped.

State of emergency has been called out to the south of NZ : Gore Many are ready to evacuate.

Not the kind of scenario hosts and guests are waiting for at the peak of summer!

We are up high on a hill, where we live.

And our son has put up our animals on the hill where they "camp" . Ha, a bit of a holiday for them :)

And yes, will contact BDC team to reach out to them. (no idea what system they use, since our calls go via America. How can they have access to them and us in the same region can't?

greetings,

Aaltje B.
