I need to cancel booking to my bungalow as we are stuck in France due to Corona Virus. we have not had a chance to get it ready.

You cannot just cancel a booking.  You can request cancel in the reservation but the guest has to confirm.  Message the guest with alternatives and explain situation and ask the to cancel.  Booking.com will charge you if you ask them.  

I suggest you mark dates as Closed if you can't take bookings.
