The "new" deposit and guarantee policy.

I have read the French and the English versions and don't understand a single thing. Do I have to change my policy? Can I keep the present policy.? That is all I need to know. I understand that you may not support my present policy but that is ok with me. I just don't know why you have to make it so difficult. At present time and for the last seven years our policy has been 25% of total reservation amount at time of reservation with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. All literature and all polices communicated to other third party has been established following this policy.

I also just checked the Extranet : Property :Policies : Damage Deposit.

 

I see the limitations are :

 

 

  • a fixed amount not a %
  • when collected:
    • On Arrival
    • & days prior to 
    • 14 days prior to

 

 

So yeah I can see why that is not ideal.

 

 

But the workaround I would use is dont enable that feature at all.

Then add a photo with text ' Deposit Required : 25% of booking at time of booking with in x Hours or x days.'

Also add a paragraph into Fine Print.

 

 

Also in the message template for New Reservation , at the very top : insert paragraph asking for it, how to pay, time limit etc.. the great thing is when they fail to prepay it directly to you and by time limit, you then get to quickly cancel and release the room with.. ... the Request cancel feature on their reservation page, and choose OPTION 1.

Just saw this cheeky note added to the guide page by BdC: Some neck on BdC to do that when the drop down options are insufficient

 

 

 

but if you do the other steps I suggested then the guest if reading the listing properly should seethe deposit photo and the message template.

 

You also could add a Question & Answer for it on the listing too; appears on the left pane of the listing.

 

something like:

 

Q: Hi is there a prepaid deposit and what is it?

A: 25% of the reservation amount , prepaid within 3 days, new booking message will have all the details.  

 

 


Note: it is no longer possible to share information about damage deposits in ‘The fine print’ section of your profile.To set up your damage deposit, just follow the steps below:

  1. Log on to the extranet and select the ‘Property’ tab.
  2. Click on ‘Policies’, scroll down to ‘Additional fees & charges’ and click on ‘Change /add details’.
  3. A pop-up window will appear where you can make adjustments.
  4. Click 'Save' at the bottom of the page when you’re done.

Remember: A damage deposit is fully refundable, subject to a damage inspection of the property.
