Rate Plans and Credit Card Payments

Hello All,

I'm new to the short term rental business. I recently got onto Booking.com and I don't have the ability to receive payments by CC and have to accept cash. What is the best way to do that? Paypal?

Also, my units are somewhat hard to rent out if they are cancelled before within 30 days. Has anyone had issues of trying to implement such a plan?

Account Adviso…

Hi Vincent Lee,

If you are a cash only property, you might be eligible to join Payments by Booking. This is where Booking.com facilitates all guest payments for you, according to the policies you’ve selected. You’ll receive guaranteed payouts by bank transfer for all your reservations (depending on your property’s reservations policies).

To check if the property is eligible, click on your Finance tab in the Extranet. In the drop down menu, if you see ‘Getting paid’, this means you are already part of the program. If you see ‘Payments by Booking.com’, you are eligible but not yet active, and can activate the service at the bottom of the page.

If you see neither options, you are not eligible and must facilitate payment with the guest yourself. If you cannot charge credit cards, you may set up bank transfer options (such as PayPal) between yourself and the guest.

Kind regards,

Shirley E.
