Reservation via Agoda
I received a reservation for my property from Booking.com and what I received in the reservation notice was an address and phone number in Bangkok. I emailed the guest at the Booking.com email provided requesting a local phone number so we could be in contact. I emailed 3 times but got no reply. Today was waiting to see if the guests would turn up - and they did, late in the afternoon. They had not received my emails nor did they get my phone number to let me know when they expected to arrive. I find this way of doing things extremely inefficient and frustrating, as I like to know when/if guests are actually going to turn up as we greet and give everyone a warm welcome. After I got the reservation, I contacted Booking.com chat to ask them to check if it was a genuine reservation, and the reply was that yes, and it was via their affiliate. I understood via Agoda, which the guests confirmed when they arrived well after my advertised check-in time. Is this unusual or is this how it is with Booking.com reservations via Agoda? I'd be glad to hear other hosts' opinions/experiences with this.
