Scam Bookings

I have had the following booking.  I believe it is a scam.

The details are:

Booking Ref.  ***  IATA/TIDS code: ***

*** ***

2 guests              Jul 16, 2021        Jul 17, 2021

I told the guest that it was too late in the evening to accept the booking for the Covid Cleaning Regime as I was suspicious of the reservation.  A French citizen with a preferred language of English and lives in Bangkok is unusual.

I have checked the address given in the guest details which is stated as

30 08 Prudential Tower, 19 Cecil St bangkok N/A

There is no such road or building in Bangkok.  The address appears to be a mashup of the Prudential towers address in Singapore.

This should be flagged up by Booking.com's Fraud Team if there is one.

Booking.Com  should not process any payment or charge me any fees for this booking.

Best Regards

I just received a booking for this same address yet the person is supposedly from Bolivia?? Can booking, com flag this address and prevent bookings? I dont have a credit card payment system, just cash when they arrive and so if they don't show it's ok. but I resent them holding my calendar hostage when they appear to be bogus and don't intend to travel.

Hi Anne,

It would be best to contact Partner Support per BrookAve's steps outlined above if you have reservation specific questions, they will best be able to help.

You may want to consider joining Payments by Booking.com if your property is eligible. Here is some further information about the features and benefits. For guests that pay online via Booking.com, the revenue is guaranteed.

Once a booking has been made you could also consider messaging the guest and ask some questions about their upcoming stay so that you can prepare for their arrival e.g. confirmation of arrival time, can you help with any recommendations for local activities, etc. This may give some assurance of their intent. you can set up and save a message template (via property tab > Message Preferences) which makes it quick and easy to send this out to any or all future guests. You can optionally choose to automate this to be sent after booking, or in the lead up to arrival.

Kind regards,

Jarratt
