Theft and damage to property

We have recently experienced theft by guests. How do we deal with this? Do we have any comeback, or insurance cover from Booking.com? Other guests have also recently damaged our property - again, how do we deal with this? Would be grateful for any suggestions.

For damage, you have the damage deposit. You did take a damage deposit, didn't you?

Anything above that amount, claim on your property insurance. You do have property insurance for holiday lettings, don't you?

For theft, report to the police. Theft is a crime and it's always a police matter.

And report the guest. Go to the booking in your Extranet and click the button for Report Guest Misconduct or whatever. You won't get any extra money, but you can report them.

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I'm new to Booking.com - how does the damage deposit work?

Booking does not offer an insurance by default (as other platforms do). You should have your own
