What’s the story behind your property name?

Hi everyone,

We’ve noticed that many of you manage or work at properties with very unique names.

So we’re curious – do you have an interesting story to share about your property name?

Whether it’s historical, personal or commercial, add a comment and let us know where your property name comes from.

Hello everyone, well kept it simple as live in Spain in my lovely town house looking south towards the almond trees and mountains so simply called it Mi Casa (My Home).

Haha, yes laying down on the job as usual.  Strange as my pic is correct way up on pc. Maybe worth experiment of turning it on pc 90 degrees and try uploading again. Rotating pic and re-uploading didn't work  :(

My wife and I live in the Forest Meadows gated-community in the Northern California mountains, which has 575 homes.  We rent our house's two downstairs bedrooms, TV lounge, bathroom and a balcony overlooking a pine forest.

Our community homeowners association has strict rules for home-based businesses; so we could not name our rental property with Forest Meadows in the title.

We chose Meadows Lair, as our rental guestrooms are in our house's secluded downstairs area.  Plus, the name is short and simple to remember, when we created our MeadowsLair.com website.

Very appropriate name and sounds like a lovely location.  A lot of people like to feel secure so a gated community would appeal to them. Here in Spain it's bars on the windows so once in no one escapes haha.

We inherited our building name, it's a bit of a mouthful and doesn't really suit it. We kept it at first because of the amount of changes required to extensive signage etc. etc.

It's unofficially shortened now and we were still toying with the idea of changing it to somthing more  more us, possibly including the side-street name ( as another newer property does ) but the street name has just recently been changed to the same as the hotel!

Isle of Wight …

All of the properties we own and/or manage have very interesting names .... like Number 12 or Number 184 .... works fine for us and guests because they can see other property numbers and makes it easy for them to locate our properties ....

Very clever thinking behind it, surely a good tip other partners can benefit from before naming their property ;)

Hotel Restaura…

Hello Ilaria, I'm the 4th generation in my family owning a family cosi hotel so our name came from a surname family  LLANSOLA. Our first hotel and a very famous restaurant in Sant Carles de la Ràpita Tarragona Spain, was opened in 1921, so in 1 year and 2 months we are gonna celebrate our century FONDA LlANSOLA 1921.

A few months ago I'm working with my family and I'm happy to do my best to continue with the family business.

Hi there, I’m new to booking.com but have been operating my short term rental beach house Gaze Mollymook in Australia for 3 years. I called it Gaze as I realised that’s  what I spent a lot of time doing when at the house cleaning. You just want to gaze out at the amazing view all the time. You’ll see whales, dolphins, surfers, swimmers and boats. Mollymook beach is one of the best beaches in Australia for swimming and surfing. The water is so crystal clear.

Moulin2Roues

"Moulin2Roues"

The historical name of our WaterMill is actually quite common "Moulin de La Motte".  We therefore needed a brand name that would make it distinctive and unique.  As we have 2 waterwheels we went for that Mill2Wheels in French of course as we are in the Loire Valley.  It also works well with our location being on a couple of cycle routes - we are very 2 wheel friendly!
