Breakfast Option

When I try to tick the box that says breakfast is available, and I then make additional selections such as included in price, continental, etc..when I hit save, the page defaults back to breakfast not available. Any thoughts?

Same here. Mentioned this to bookin.com after the set-up. Answer was ‘we dont know’, though we did mention the breakfast inclusion in the summary section. This is confusing again, as now we mention it in the overview, but it is not listed in the ‘facilities’. We already had some issues with clients on this point. I actually reminded booking.com again today, before reading your comment. I am sure it is a software issue of sorts, so our friends at booking.com need to get their act together and sort this out. Amazing how they are always very quick went it cones to collecting their fees, but less so when it comes to supporting their ‘partners’ (their definition, not how I feel most of the time....). I will keep you posted if they come back with a solution.

This is the response that I received from Booking.com (see below). They are aware, though have not solved this for the past 2 months (when I first flagged it).

“First of all, I would like to apologize for the issue with indicating breakfast in the Extranet.

We are currently experiencing technical issues regarding this tool, and the issue has already been reported and is being worked on. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved very soon. “

Hopefully they manage to resolve this soon.

We have the same problem trying to show what we have on offer. As we are a B&B of course we feel we have to provide a breakfast and so offer a huge range of choice for a continental breakfast (5 different cereals, 7 different fruits, choice of yoghurts bread, muffins and more) However we do make a small charge for a cooked breakfast (and don't lost the 15% of this fee to B.C).. It is difficult to show this on the site and some guests get very cranky when we point out the cooked breakfast is extra.

I agree - it is super difficult on this site to specify breakfast options. Our breakfast is included M-F continental buffet style but on Saturday and Sunday our restaurant is open for brunch that is NOT included. Under Property < Facilities & Services < Breakfast Options there is a place to specify what days and times the breakfast runs but not a place to specify when we charge for breakfast and not a place to differentiate this for what the guest sees either. Even if a guest pulls up our availability for a Saturday or Sunday stay it still says that breakfast is included in several different places. It doesn't even show that our continental breakfast runs from 6am until 10am -- I don't know why there is a place for the admin to specify that if it's just going to show up as "breakfast included" on the listings. Wondering if anyone has figured out how to specify varying breakfast amenities clearly for guests!
