I have my calendars synced and it doesn't always work. A BDC rep told me it can take up to 4 hours so I block on other websites manually, which is ok when you only have 1 room.
I have had this happen and booking reversed the commission. You just need to find the right person as half of them don't know what they're talking about. Or don't understand what you are saying.
This is a tricky one. I had guests bring their own fan heater once to keep their new born baby warm. Electricity use was $30 a day. They paid $120 a night and I had to pay fees and me cleaner for 3 nights. I mentioned it to them and advised not to use the heater when they took the baby home as it would cost them a fortune, They then left a low review stating I had asked them for money because it was cold and they had used a heater.
If you put prices up you may not get the bookings, but I would probably give it a try.
I only wish untrue reviews could be removed. I had a guest leave me a 5 as there were only 2 small heaters (which are meant for the bedrooms) in the house. This is not true, I have reverse cycle A/C in the main living areas. The gas isn't available in our town so this is the best electrical heating we can have. Another downrated me to 7.5 because I had patched the doors and I should have replaced them. Turned out to be the corkboard notice boards he was talking about. Also said some one was living upstairs in the storage area and the females in the group were scared. This was possums on the roof. We have those in Australia. Someone else wrote that she had a creepy crawly feeling on her skin like there were dust mites. Never has anyone else mention this and I've never felt like that. Did however say the house was spotless. Luckily the majority of my reviews are 10s but these untrue lower scores bring it down.
I have taken a deposit for 2 bookings in the last month that haven't recognised my business name on their cc so have put a fraudulent use against my name. The guest automatically gets refunded the full amount and I get over $30 worth of fees and a fraudulent use of a cc against my credit file rating. Nothing can be done to reverse this. Both times the guests have realised their mistake and spoken to the bank and nothing can be done to by the bank.There is actually nothing to stop anyone staying in your property for any length of time and then going to the bank and saying they don't recognise the business name and request a full refund which happens automatically with cc payments that are put through manually.
