As of the 21st November 2019, Booking.com does not allow payment and/or credit card fees to be charged on reservations received through our website and app.

At Booking.com, we believe that transparent pricing leads to a better experience for your guests – and a more seamless check-out experience for everyone. That’s why we assure bookers that they won’t be charged any payment or credit card fees for reservations they make through our website and app.

While we’re aware it’s common practice to charge these fees in some countries, we want to give all bookers the same payment experience – wherever they’re from and wherever they’re travelling.

To make sure we’re living up to this promise, we will be automatically removing any payment and credit card fees from all properties that have a payment and/or credit card fee set up in their extranet – either in the VAT/taxes settings or ‘The fine print’ section.

Who does this apply to?

This applies to all partners in all countries. As of the 21 November 2019, Booking.com will automatically remove any payment or credit card fees that were already set up in the extranet and it will no longer be possible to add these fees in the future.

To access your VAT, city tax and extra charges settings:

  1. Log into your extranet and click on the 'Property' tab.

  2. Select ‘VAT/tax/charges’.

To view the information you currently have in ‘The fine print’, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your extranet and click on the 'Property' tab.

  2. Click on 'View your descriptions’.
