If you’re the ‘admin user’ of your extranet account, you’ll be able to view credit card details for reservations on Pulse. If you work with virtual credit cards, you can also see those on Pulse.
To view guest credit card details on Pulse, just follow these steps:
- Open the app.
- Tap on a reservation in the ‘Activity’ tab, or go to ‘Bookings’ and select a reservation.
- Scroll down to the ‘Total reservation price’ section and tap ‘View credit card details’.
- For security reasons, you’ll be asked to enter your login name and password. This is the same username and password that you use to log into the extranet.
- You’ll then see the guest’s credit card details.
Note: Always keep guests’ credit card data safe. Don’t take screenshots or write down any credit card details. The most secure way to handle credit card details is to only view them at the time you need to charge or pre-authorise the guest’s credit card.
Reviewing extranet/Pulse access rights Do you have staff who are also set up with ‘admin user’ rights? Does their role require them to view guests’ credit card details? If not, make sure you adjust their permissions accordingly. Any account settings you choose in the extranet are automatically reflected on Pulse.
Security standards Booking.com complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The Pulse app is built with the same security measures as the extranet, so you can be sure we’ve taken measures to protect your guests’ data.
Rules for viewing credit card details Guests’ credit card details can only be viewed three times in total, for up to ten days after the check-out date – whether in the extranet or on Pulse.
If the booking is cancelled, credit card details will be available for up to ten days after the cancellation date. For security reasons, the CVC code can only be shown once (the first time you view the credit card details).
Remember: Guests don’t always have to provide credit cards for all reservations. It depends on the policies and payment methods you’ve set up.
Viewing marked invalid credit cards In order to mark a guest’s credit card as invalid, you still need to do so in the extranet. Once that’s done, though, on Pulse you’ll be able to see that specific reservation as being marked as invalid. Just tap on the ‘Bookings’ tab, then select and tap on the reservation in the reservation list and you’ll see a banner that states Marked as invalid.
Extra security options on iOS If you use Pulse on an iOS device, you can make it even more secure by going to the ‘More’ tab and setting up a Touch ID and passcode. After that, the app can only be accessed on your device by entering a valid passcode or fingerprint scan.
