How can I set or update room rates for different occupancies? [New]

Note: Depending on your property type, this feature may not be available yet. If not, follow these instructions on how to set up or update room rates instead.

To attract individual travellers, couples and groups, it’s important to set up your prices for different types of occupancies.

You’ll see different options below. Check which of the screenshots matches what you see in the extranet, then follow the appropriate steps.                    Option 1 List view calendar                              Option 2 Monthly view calendar

Option 1: List view calendar

If using the List view calendar you should follow these steps to change a room rate based on occupancy, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the extranet and click on ‘Calendar’ under your ‘Rates & Availability’ tab.
  2. Choose the rate you want to edit and click on ‘Edit occupancy pricing below it.
  3. In the pop-up window, the number of guests for the base price will be highlighted. You can activate or deactivate alternative occupancies using the ‘Status’ toggle buttons.
  4. Click on the drop-down boxes under ‘Price change’/‘Discount’ to choose either a fixed percentage or a fixed amount to add/discount when the occupancy increases/decreases.
  5. Click on ‘Save changes’ to finalise your occupancy prices.

 


Option 2: Monthly view calendar

If using the Monthly view calendar you should follow these steps to change a room rate based on occupancy, follow these steps:

  1. Click on either the ‘Calendar & pricing’ or ‘Rates & Availability tab.
  2. Scroll down to ‘Price by number of guests’ below the calendar, and click ‘Edit occupancy pricing’.
  3. In the pop-up window, the number of guests for the base price will be highlighted. You can activate or deactivate alternative occupancies using the ‘Status’ toggle buttons. This activates drop-down boxes where you need to choose either a fixed percentage or a fixed amount to add/discount when the occupancy increases/decreases.
  4. Click on ‘Save changes’ to finalise your occupancy prices.

This article describes how you can manually set and adjust your occupancy pricing after you’ve activated the rate level occupancy feature. If you want your rates to change automatically according to the room occupancy, make sure you’ve activated derived pricing
